We have seen different IP addresses for various purposes. The IP address 127.0.0.1 is one of the unique feature IP address that serves Ipv4 for the localhost. You can also call it a loopback network interface as it is a network of computers connected. I have a software which installs a loopback adapter on the machine. I noticed that if I have a VPN connection on the machine (e.g. to connect to the Internet via ADSL), the VPN connection sometimes becomes unusable after adding the loopback adapter, and the "Connect to a network" dialog states Loopback interfaces can be used for device management, sourcing self-generated traffic, MIPs, VPN termination, or with the BGP dynamic routing protocol as source interface for SNMP, Syslog, DNS, and NTP as a outgoing interface in a VPN. When a loopback interface is used as the outgoing Interface in a VPN configuration, the loopback interface Is there a way to get a VPN connection to work, while a loopback adapter is present on the machine? I would be happy to either get the binding order to take effect without a reboot (or disabling/enabling the adapters), or to cause the loopback to be bound last while installing it.
